Analytics delivery in Ireland

28 cities covered, each with three published local analyses. Licensing priced in euro, data residency in North Europe (Dublin), and compliance under the EU GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 supervised by the Data Protection Commission (DPC).

  • Analytics engineer salary band: roughly €55,000 to €85,000, with Dublin at the upper end
  • External consultant day rate: roughly €700 to €1,300 per day
  • Working languages: English and Irish
Residency

Data residency

North Europe sits in Dublin, so Irish organisations get in-country residency on the region most of Europe treats as its default. The practical consequence is excellent latency and a short list of residency questions, though cross-border processing still has to be documented where a service falls back to another region.

Compliance

Compliance context in Ireland

  • Ireland hosts the EU establishment of many multinationals, so the DPC is frequently the lead supervisory authority, which raises the bar on analytics documentation well above local headcount.
  • The Central Bank's outsourcing and operational resilience expectations apply to cloud analytics platforms used by regulated firms.
  • EU-level obligations (DORA, NIS2, CSRD and the AI Act) apply in full, and the Irish implementation timetable is worth tracking per obligation.
  • Funds and aircraft-leasing sectors concentrated in Dublin bring specific reporting datasets that generic BI templates handle badly.
Delivery

Delivery

  • English-language delivery with strong overlap with UK working practices makes mixed UK and Irish programmes straightforward.
  • Multinational subsidiaries often work to a group architecture decided elsewhere, so local projects need an explicit position on group standards.
  • The analytics labour market in Dublin is tight, which pushes many organisations towards a hybrid of a small internal team and external depth.
How organisations buy here

Purchasing in Ireland

English-language and UK-like in tone, but dominated by multinational subsidiaries whose procurement happens elsewhere. Vendor onboarding often takes longer than the commercial negotiation.

Private sector

A local sponsor agrees the work, then the supplier is onboarded into a group procurement system (Ariba, Coupa or similar), which can take several weeks and is a separate process from winning the engagement. The group master agreement usually overrides local terms, and a purchase order must exist before any invoice will be paid.

Public sector

Public bodies buy through eTenders, with framework agreements run by the Office of Government Procurement. Above EU thresholds the requirement also appears on TED. Many framework mini-competitions are decided on a scored submission rather than a meeting, so the written response matters more than the relationship.

Who has to say yes

  1. Local sponsor, head of data, finance director or country manager
  2. Group procurement, frequently in another country and another time zone
  3. Information security and privacy review, often against a standard questionnaire
  4. Legal, usually applying a group master agreement rather than negotiating a new one

Documents expected

  • Tax clearance certificate from Revenue, checked routinely, including for non-resident suppliers
  • Certificate of incorporation and company registration details
  • Insurance certificates, with professional indemnity at the level the group policy requires
  • Data processing agreement under EU GDPR Article 28
  • Security questionnaire, often a standardised set such as SIG or CAIQ
  • Supplier portal registration and bank details verification

Contract norms

  • A group master services agreement with a local statement of work is the common shape
  • Payment terms of 45 or 60 days are normal with multinationals
  • No purchase order, no payment. This is enforced strictly
  • Irish law and jurisdiction for locally contracted work; group agreements may specify elsewhere

Contract language

English.

What ends the conversation

  • No tax clearance certificate
  • Refusing to work under the group master agreement where one exists
  • Invoicing without a purchase order
  • Being unable to complete a standard security questionnaire

Analytics work in Ireland

A 45-minute working session with an engineer rather than a sales call. You describe the problem; we set out what we would build, in what order, and what it is likely to cost.

How this usually runs here
A technical call, then a written proposal. An Irish subsidiary will usually need a purchase order raised before an invoice can be settled.

Answered within one working day, by the engineer who would do the work
