The metrics, systems and obligations we expect in each sector

Every page below names the metrics we are expected to know cold, the modelling trap inside each one, the source systems we integrate and the regulatory context across our five markets. Read them before a first call and judge whether we understand your business.
  • Named metrics with the trap that distorts them
  • Named source systems, not "your ERP"
  • Regulatory context per market, not generic GDPR talk

Financial services

  • Net interest margin, Net interest income over average earning assets for the period.
  • Cost-to-income ratio, Operating expenses over total operating income.
  • Assets under management, Market value of client assets managed, at the measurement date.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Manufacturing and industrial

Shift-level OEE, downtime analysis and cost per unit reconciled across ERP, MES and historian data.

  • OEE, Availability × performance × quality, measured against planned production time.
  • Mean time between failures, Operating time divided by the number of failure events in the period.
  • First pass yield, Units passing inspection first time, over units started.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Retail and consumer

Margin by SKU, store and channel, on a model that treats returns and promotions consistently.

  • Net sales, Gross sales less returns, discounts and allowances, excluding VAT.
  • Gross margin after costs to serve, Net sales less cost of goods, fulfilment, payment and marketplace fees.
  • Sell-through rate, Units sold over units received, for a defined season or period.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Healthcare and life sciences

Operational and clinical reporting with stable cohort definitions and pseudonymisation by design.

  • Referral-to-treatment waiting time, Elapsed time from referral receipt to first definitive treatment, by pathway.
  • Bed occupancy, Occupied bed days over available bed days in the period.
  • Did-not-attend rate, Appointments where the patient did not attend, over appointments offered.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Logistics and supply chain

  • On-time in full, Deliveries arriving complete within the committed window, over total deliveries.
  • Cost to serve, Fully allocated cost of fulfilling a shipment, customer or lane.
  • Fleet utilisation, Revenue-earning vehicle hours or loaded kilometres over available capacity.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Public sector and non-profit

Statutory returns and performance reporting generated from one governed model.

  • Cost per case or per resident, Total service cost over cases handled or residents served in the period.
  • Demand and caseload trend, New, open and closed cases by service, period and cohort.
  • Statutory timescale compliance, Cases completed within the statutory period, over cases due.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Professional services

Utilisation, realisation, lock-up and pipeline defined once and reported consistently.

  • Utilisation, Chargeable hours over available hours for the period.
  • Realisation, Billed value over standard value of recorded time.
  • Effective hourly rate, Billed value over chargeable hours delivered.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Energy and utilities

Version-aware settlement, consumption reporting that states its estimated share, and reconciled asset records.

  • Actual read coverage, Share of consumption volume supported by actual rather than estimated reads.
  • Settlement variance, Difference between successive settlement runs for the same period.
  • Distribution losses, Energy entering the network less energy billed, over energy entering.
Metrics, systems and regulation

Technology and SaaS

Reproducible ARR and retention, with product usage joined to revenue at account grain.

  • Annual recurring revenue, Annualised value of committed recurring subscriptions at the measurement date.
  • Net revenue retention, Revenue from a cohort at period end over the same cohort at period start, excluding new customers.
  • Gross revenue retention, As net retention but excluding expansion, so it cannot exceed 100 per cent.
